Sulphur strata-bound deposit located near the village of Sho‘rsuv (Shorsu) in the northern foothills of the Alai Range, about 30 km SSW of the city of Kokand.

It is composed of Cretaceous, Paleogene, and locally occurring Neogene rocks, including layers of gypsum, dolomitised limestone, limestone, green clays and marls, red marls, sulphur, and ozocerite.
