Calc-silicate skarn, of the same origin and not far from the more famous Fuka mine in neighboring Okayama prefecture, although Kushiro's mineralogy is much less complex.
The contact-metamorphic samples studied by Henmi et al. (1983) are from a limestone quarry (contact between andesite and limestone).
