Permian trachybasalts (melaphyres) representing a fragment of the lava flows, cross-cutting layers of Rotliegend sediments, accompanied by tuffs, conglomerates and volcanic breccias. In the N-W part of the quarry, sedimentary rocks: red-brown sandstones and mudstones over the volcanic series with footprints of amphibians (clumsy, slow-moving animals lived on the banks of the vast, shallow lakes covered with poor vegetation).
