An U occurrence located in approximate sec. 24, T4lN, Rl9E, G&SRM, 6.5 km (4.1 miles) NW of Mystery Valley (coordinates of record) and 6.7 km (4.2 miles) SSW of Goulding (San Juan County, Utah), 1,300 feet ESE of the Monument No. 1, in Monument Valley.

Mineralization is an U deposit hosted in coarse-grained sandstone of the Shinarump Member of the Chinle Formation. The ore contains tyuyamunite and minor autunite, carnotite, pyrite, and copper oxides with clay pebbles. There are abundant pockets of plant material.

Production was 70 tons of ore @0.12% U3O8 (1955-1956).

Description: Unconsolidated to strongly consolidated alluvial and eolian deposits.
