Ancient iron mine, working a siderite vein hosted by devonian schists. The latter were mined for use as a roofing material until 1949, a long time after iron mining had ceased.
Located near Brachbach and about 4.5 km NE of Betzdorf.
Includes Mittlerer Wernsberger Stollen (or 'Wernsberger Mittelstollen').
