A former small surface Pb-Ag-Cu-Au mine located in the SW¼ sec. 13, T17S, R30E, and in the NW ¼ sec. 18, T.17S., R.31E. (Portal 15 minute topo map), about 1 mile N of Paradise. Produced 1878-1945. Owned at times by the Monte Cristo Conservative Mining Co. and the Tyrone Mining Co.
Mineralization is base metal carbonates and sulfides with spotty scheelite in sheared and faulted tactite zone and in irregular replacement bodies in Pennsylvanian-Permian Naco Group Limestone.
Local structures include an E-W-trending thrust fault ½ mile (0.8km) north of the mining area. Cambrian and Precambrian rock lie north of the thrust. Sheared and faulted tactite zone.
Workings are shallow and include two shafts, 25 and 28 feet deep, several pits, and a few hundred feet or one to three feet deep trenches in search for scheelite ore in the 1940's and 1950's. Produced 100 or more tons Pb-Cu-Ag ore in the 1880'S, and 100 tons of W ore in 1945. Produced about 27 tons of ore in 1953.
