A former underground Pb-Ag-Cu-Zn-Au mine located in the SW¼NE¼ sec. 13, T21S, R14E, just west of the US location monument No. 11, which is between the Alto and Bland camps, in North-central sec. 13, T.21S., R.14E, on private land. Owned at times, or in part, by the Apache Mining Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio; Frazer; Security Mining Co.; Henderson; Royal Blue Mining & Milling Co.; Heagney & Ellison; Royal Blue Mining Co.; Campbell; and Merrill & Otero.
Mineralization is irregular, lensing, quartz-fissure veins containing ore shoots of sulfides, partially oxidized and with supergene enrichment near the surface. The wall rock is largely Cretaceous arkose members interbedded in rhyodacite tuff. The vein is supposed to be an offshoot from the Bland vein and which carries Cu & Ag.
Workings include a 40 foot deep shaft and a 60 foot tunnel, plus 2 lower openings, one a crosscut and the other a drift. Worked mainly from 1912 through 1920 and 1945 through 1949. Produced some 2,400 tons of ore averaging about 6% Pb, 3% Cu, 12 oz. Ag/T, 1% Zn and minor Au.
