A Pb-Ag-Zn-Cu-Au (Ba) mine located in the SE ¼ sec. 12, T.18S., R.10E. A pair of mines with the Sunshine Mine.
Mineralization is pods and disseminations of sulfides and sulfosalts and barite in irregular quartz-calcite fissure veins and along fractures and faults cutting sinuous thrust-faulted bands of metamorphosed PAleozoic limestone.
Workings include shaft, tunnels and open cuts. Worked by 'chloriders' for high-grade Pb-Ag ore in the late 1800's. Since 1900 some 4,000 tons of ore, averaging about 8% Pb, 3 oz. Ag/T, and minor Cu, Zn, and Au, were produced mainly and intermittently between 1923 and 1959.
