The Wheal Reeth workings lie to the west of Great Work Mine sett, however, very little appears to be know about the early history of the mine and no plans of the early workings appear to have survived.

In 1926 it was re-started under the name Lady Gwendolen and in 1933 the property was taken over by Wheal Reeth Tin Ltd and the name reverted back to Wheal Reeth.
