Although known primarily for the Jurassic-era fossil beds exposed in places like Lyme Regis, the Jurassic Coast Heritage Site which extends from Exmouth in the west to near Studland in the east includes coastal sites where Permian, Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous sedimentary rocks are exposed, as well as more recent post-glacial sediments.
