Pegmatite discovered August 20, 2002. Large pods of hyperalkaline minerals (0.7 x 1.0 m) found in pegmatite (7 by 1.5 m).
Igor V. Pekov (2005)places the Palitra pegmatite in the Kedykverpakhk area of the Karnasurt mine. The underground mine workings evidently penetrate both Karnasurt Mountain and the adjacent Kedykverpakhk Mountain. The locality of the pegmatite might be better referred to the Karnasurt mine.
