Structure: Golconda Thrust Fault Deformation Of Host Rocks

Deposit: BRECCIATED SHEARED ZONES Discovery Year: 1937-38

Deposit type: Hot-spring Hg

Development: Gabbs exploration co. Began furnace-treating cinnabar ore at the dugan property in horse canyon in 1960, employing 7 men.

Geology: Geol.desc: bailey and phoenix, 1944, p. 156: "the oldest rocks (the ore bearing rocks) of the area are paleozoic (?) thin - bedded contorted and broken beds of limestone, shale, and chert conglomerate." unconformably overlying the sediments is a 75 ft bed of andesitic tuff; a glassy rhyolite flo w overlies the tuff. Rocks listed above from ferguson and cathcart using bailey's location

Ore(s): The Deposits Lie Within And Adjacent To A Broad, Major, West-Northwest Trending Fault Zone.
