Fe-Zn-Pb mine, 5 km SE of Sobral da Adiça (1914/5 to 196?).

Included in the Preguiça-Vila Ruiva mining field (mining concessions 363 628 629 630).

Descrição: À superfície, quer em Vila Ruiva quer na Preguiça, ocorrem chapéus de ferro, principalmente, no seio de dolomias câmbricas dispostas em anticlinório; em profundidade, ocorrem mineralizações de Zn-Pb(Ag) em camadas tabulares orientadas N45º W e 50º E, com minério compacto e bolsadas de minério terroso, associados a calcários dolomíticos em cujo seio aparecem impregnações de pirite, galena e calcopirite e situadas na proximidade de vulcanitos. As mineralizações de Zn-Pb(Ag) são pré-orogénicas. Existem ainda camadas hematíticas independentes das mineralizações anteriores e interestratificadas em xistos, que se estendem por 1.500 m com rumo N60ºW, pendor suave para NE e possança média de 3 m.
Mineralizações Principais: Galena, Goethite (Minério de ferro acicular), Hematite (Oligisto), Hidrozinquite (Flor de zinco), Siderite (Espato ferroso), Smithsonite (Espato de zinco, Calamina).
Morfologias: Estratiforme, Gossan.
Rochas Encaixantes: Calcários cristalinos, Dolomitos, Xistos.
Geologia Local: Anticlinório de Moura-Ficalho. Complexo Vulcano-sedimentar.
Geologia Regional: Câmbrico. Silúrico.

Geological description:
On the surface either in Vila Ruiva or in Preguiça, iron caps occur mainly on Cambrian dolomites arranged in anticlinorium; at depth, Zn-Pb (Ag) mineralization occurs in tabular layers oriented N 45 W, dipping 50° E, with compact ore and earthy ore pockets, associated with limestones containing several impregnations of pyrite, galena, and chalcopyrite in close proximity to volcanic rocks. The Zn-Pb (Ag) mineralization is pre-orogenic. There are layers of hematitic mineralization that are interstratified in “mineralized schists” and are independent of the previously referred impregnations, which extend for 1,500 m (striking N 60 º W), with a smooth gradient and a 3 m thickness.
Main minerals: Galena, Goethite, Hematite, Hydrozincite, Siderite, Smithsonite.
Morphologies: stratiform, gossan.
Host rocks: crystalline limestone, dolomites, shales.
Local geology: Moura Anticline-Ficalho. Volcano-Sedimentary Complex.
