Located approximately 17km NNW of Drake.
Operated via adits, underground workings, shafts, open cuts,ahallow pits, and trenches.
The town of Drake is located in Drake County while this mine is located in Buller County.

There are several small mines in the area. Early mining concentrated on structurally controlled sulphide-rich lodes in the Deadman, K Tunnel and Cliff workings. More recent exploration has targeted stratabound disseminations and vein networks in the Main Shaft and Magazine areas.

Red Rock includes the deposits/localities of the following: K-tunnel, A-tunnel, Cliff workings, Magazine zone, Deadman tunnel, E-tunnel, Galena shafts, Main shaft, and Top show
