Description: At both type localities, the Similkameen River and Tulameen River, tulameenite is found in placer deposits derived from the weathering of the Late Triassic Tulameen zoned ultramafic complex. Tulameenite occurs as minute, white metallic grains, associated with chalcopyrite, chromite, magnetite, almandine, spessartine, hematite, zircon, ilmenite, gold, isoferroplatinum and Pt-Fe alloys.
