Located at the SE side af the Tromøy Island. The variety of zircon, alvite, was first discovered and described from this locality and given name after the locality.

The coordinates given by the NGU (58.4722170, 8.8820180 seem to be wrong. There is no sign of a quarry in the altitude. However, 200 m and 300 m east of that spot there are two quarries. The coordinates in Mindat are for the largest one: beginning at 58.47186,8.88499 and ending at 58.4726,8.88451.
The other one starts at 58.47181,8.8864.
