A disused granite quarry well known to collectors as Manod Quarry and as a location for alpine-type minerals. Also referred to as Manod New Setts Quarry.
Although referred to as a 'granite quarry', Madog Quarry (Gwaith Setts), extracted dolerite from the late 1800's up until 1972. The lower sections of the working are now occupied by a 'transport' company.
NB - This is not the (nearby)slate quarry also commonly known as Manod Quarry where Britain's art treasures were stored during the Second World war (See Cwt y Bugail Quarry(Bwlch-y-Slaters Quarry, New Manod Quarry))
