If you do not know exactly where in the area your sample came from, then place it here rather than guessing. The mineral list is incomplete so don't worry if it says it is not on the list of minerals found here.

The Cobalt Area was the most prolific silver producer of the Region. Petruk (1971) divides the area into three geological subareas - Peterson Lake basin, Kerr Lake Dome, and New Lake Basin. Most of the activity was in the Peterson Lake Basin and Petruk further divides this geographically into "Northwest of Cobalt Lake", "West side of Peterson Lake Basin", "East side of Peterson Lake Basin", and "near Peterson Lake".

Geochronology

Mineralization age: Paleoproterozoic : 2211 Ma to 1699 Ma

Important note: This table is based only on rock and mineral ages recorded below and is not necessarily a complete representation of the geochronology, but does give an indication of possible mineralization events relevant to this locality. As more age information is added this table may expand in the future. A break in the table simply indicates a lack of data entered here, not necessarily a break in the geologic sequence. Grey background entries are from different, related, localities.
