Stark County is a county in northeast Ohio. It was founded on February 13, 1808 and named after General John Stark (1728-1822), an officer during the American Revolutionary War. John Stark was best remembered during his service at the Battle of Bennington in 1777, defeating General John Burgoyne. The county seat is Canton.
