Pike County is a county in southern Ohio. It was founded on February 1, 1815 and named after General Zebulon M. Pike (1779-1813), the discoverer of Pike’s Peak, Colorado in 1806 and later an officer during the War of 1812. Zebulon Pike perished after the Battle of York (now Toronto). The county seat is Waverly.
