The small village of Waldkirchen an der Thaya in the community (Marktgemeinde) of Waldkirchen an der Thaya.

Large ultrabasite (serpeninite) body (the largest in the Bohemian Massif), intercalated between gneisses and amphibolites.

A serpentinite quarry is located within Waldkirchen, along the road to Gilgenberg.

Mineral findings on farm land around Waldkirchen. Host rock is serpentinite and peridotite.
