The area S and SW of Loiwein contains a larger number of sublocalities (outcrops, roadcuts, loose boulders) with minerals in Alpine-type clefts (at or near paragneiss-amphibolite contacts), quartz veins and pegmatites.
Among collectors it is mainly known for nice quartz and prehnite crystals, but also some chalcopyrite and malachite.
