A small quarry for building material located E of Ampamatoa, North of Taolañaro, on the foot of the Bezavona Massif.

Grandidierite has here been found in small pegmatitic veins less than 5 cm thick embedded in a garnet and cordierite bearing leptynite.

The locality has not been located.
There are some traces of quarries at the fottof Bezavona
at 25° 0'31.09"S, 46°58'35.37"E , but no traces of grandidierite were found there in visit in 1990.
