A former small surface and underground Ag-Au-Cu-Pb-Zn mine located in sec. 22, T19S, R15E, on the crest of the Santa Rita Mountains, 1½ miles south of Melendreth Pass and 37 miles SE of Tucson. Discovered 1885. Worked in the middle 1880's.
Mineralization is a 6 foot wide hydrothermal quartz vein in Precambrian schist. Ore is lean sulphides beginning within 5 or 6 feet of the surface in a tabular orebody 1.83 meters wide. Host rock unit is the Pinal Schist.
Au and Ag averaged $100 per ton.
Local structures include thrust and normal faulting, fracture zones, homoclinal. Regional trends include tilting and broad open folds in the south and extensive faulting in the north.
Workings include a 45 foot (13.72 meters) deep shaft.
