A small quarry in a hillside, worked by local farmers.
The former mindat locality name "Hongquizhen Quarry" is wrong, "qui" in locality name is actually "xi" by the Chinese character "ζΊͺ". Also, it is not a quarry but an illegal mining area. Hongxizhen actually means Hongxi Town, an area under Meigu County, and it was Hongxi Township, a township level area instead a town level area till 2021. The formal name of the Quartz's locality does not exist actually as specimens are found on a mountain between Hongxi Town and Mabian County, the area actually belongs to a forest reserve and all mining activities there are illegal.
