Guilin is a Prefecture level city and is the largest city located in the spectacular scenic karst area of China. It is the home of China's Karst Institute and also from a mineralogical point of view, home to a large "stone" market. The stone market deals in a lot of cave formations as well as a lot of weirdly shaped big river rocks that the Chinese dearly love.
