Ancient manganese mining area, discovered 1830.
The mine was operated together with the Friedl (Friedel) mine from 1879 to 1892 when it was considered to be depleted. In the year 1884 the mines reached a peak with 3725 t of ore extracted in 1 year.
Some prospecting was done in 1966 but the results were negative.
