"South of Revin on the D1. After passing the locality on the same road there is a slate quarry with slate dotted with magnetite on the dumps." [Belot, 1978]

Several old quarries to the north and south of the river Meuse, around the town of Monthermé.
The massive quartz veins produced crystals up to 50 cm in the past.
Especially the "Grand Commune" quarry is good for finding nice quartz crystals.

Located about 15 km NNE of Charleville-Mézières.
