A bentonite occurrence located in sec. 35, T22N, R30E, G&SRM, 3.8 km (2.4 miles) SSE of Allentown. The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters (est. +/- 0.6 mile).

Mineralization is a clay deposit hosted in Early Triassic shale of the Chinle formation. Local rocks include rocks of the Chinle Formation.

Stratigraphic Name: Chinle Formation

Description: Colorful mudstone, such as in the Painted Desert, and less abundant lenses of sandstone and conglomerate, deposited by a large river system. This unit typically is eroded into badlands topography and contains clays that are prone to shrinking and swelling. (210-230 Ma)
