The locality Ialamitana consist of several pegmaties which only a few have benn exploited. One of the workings has produced green, opaque beryls and Antsotsara pegmatite closeby, has produced good up to 3 cm large well-shaped trapezohedrons of red garnets (almandine-spessartine series) and good crystals of "strüverite". It is located in a mountainous area 2km east of Isahanivotry (south of Antsirabe), near Manandona Valley and close to the Vorondolo Massif.

The locality is most probably the one refered to as "a new almandine garnet locality" situated "6 km southeast of the Manandona and 30 km south of Antsirabe" by Moore (1997,1998). Many good pieces was found here in 1996.

The name Ialamaitana is a misnomer (spelling mistake).
