The quarry, known among the rockhounds as "Cava Tosca", is located at the base of the ophiolitic block of Rocca Pradellara, included in the Pietra Parcellara olistostrome, and mainly composed of metamorphosed lherzolite (lherzolitic serpentine). The minerals are found in white-to-light-green lizardite veins.
