An U occurrence/prospect located in approximate N-central sec. 22, T18N, R23E, G&SRM, about 15.9 km (9.9 miles) ESE of Sun Valley, on private land. The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 100 meters.

Mineralization is an U deposit with zippeite associated with carbonized trash hosted in bentonitic sandstone of the Petrified Forest member. Carnotite occurs in mineralized logs and interstitial spaces in sandstone. Local rocks include rocks of the Chinle Formation.

Workings include surface openings comprised of rim strippings.

Production was 53 tons of ore @0.28% U3O8; 0.73% V2O5 (1956-1957).

Radiation: 2 mr/hr.

Analysis test results: 4 samples @ 0.05-0.86% U3O8.

Description: Colorful mudstone, such as in the Painted Desert, and less abundant lenses of sandstone and conglomerate, deposited by a large river system. This unit typically is eroded into badlands topography and contains clays that are prone to shrinking and swelling. (210-230 Ma)
