A former Hg occurrence/mine located in sec. 6, T14N, R5W, MDM, 6.5 km (4.0 miles) NNW of Wilbur Springs and 3.0 km (10,000 feet) ESE of Cold Spring Mountain (coordinates of record), S of Deadshot Canyon, in the headwaters area of the East Fork Sulphur Creek. Operated 1893-1894, and again about 1960 (no specifics). Owned at one time by the Cal-Merc Milling Co. (1969) and/or Walter Petray. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.

Mineralization is a Hg deposit. Ore control was silicified fractures in serpentine. Alteration is local and involves the silicification of serpentine. The deposit is hosted along a fault zone in altered serpentinite, which is cut by quartz and chalcedony veins. Cinnabar occurs as fine grained masses in fractures and as disseminations in low angle faults and shear zones. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 3 (Coast Ranges and Western Klamath Mountains).

A small mercury mine, which produced 100 flasks of mercury, mainly in the period from 1892-1893. More recent mining concentrated in the area further north (Petray Mine).

Workings include unspecified surface and underground openings, now caved.

Production (1960): more than 48 pounds/ton (21,680 grams/metric ton.
