A former lode Au mine located in sec. 24, T2N, R13E, MDM, 0.5 km (0.3 mile) NW of Melones (site) and 1.5 km (0.9 mile) S of Carson Hill (town). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in diorite and slate. The ore body strikes NW and dips NE. Abundant sulfides are present. The vein has a diorite hanging wall and a slate footwall. Local rocks include undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
Workings include surface and underground openings with an overall depth of 7.62 meters and an overall length of 6.4 meters and comprised of a 50 foot adit and an open cut.
