A former lode Au mine located in sec. 29, T2N, R13E, MDM, 1.3 km (0.8 mile) NNW of Barth Mountain (coordinates of record), at the mouth of Texas Charley Gulch (6 miles NNE of Copperopolis; adjoins the Black Bart Mine). Prospected prior to 1936. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 5,000 meters. Property may be inundated beneath the New Melones Reservoir.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in porphyry and slate. The ore body is a quartz ledge. The vein has a porphyry footwall and a Mariposa slate hanging wall. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 130 foot adit.
