A former placer Au occurrence/drift mine located in the SE¼ sec. 13, T5N, R11E, MDM, 2.2 km (1.3 miles) SSW of Mokelumne Hill (town). Property consisted of 60 acres. Operated prior to 1874 as the Bob Paul claim. Active in 1880 as the LaBelle France Mine. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

Mineralization is a placer Au deposit in gravel overlain by rhyolite tuff, clay and andesitic gravel. Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).

Workings included underground openings comprised of a 275 foot inclined tunnel driven in 1874.

Pay gravel produced during the period 1880 to 1882.
