A former lode Au mine located in the SW¼ (estimated) sec. 5 and in the SE¼ (estimated) sec. 6, T5N, R12E, MDM, 2.2 km (1.3 miles) NE of Mokelumne Hill (town). Property has an agricultural patent. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granodiorite and slate. The ore body strikes N and dips 45E at a thickness of 6.1 meters. The deposit is comprised of a series of N-S & E-W trending veins, 6 to 20 feet thick with granodiorite footwalls and slate hanging walls. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 950 foot adit giving 500 feet of backs.
