A former lode Au mine located in the SW¼ sec. 13 and in the SE¼ sec. 14, T5N, R12E, MDM, 3.2 km (2.0 miles) E of Jesus Maria and SW of the Victory Dude Ranch, N of Wet Gulch (5 miles ESE of Mokelumne Hill). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. The ore body strikes NW and dips E. There are 5 veins: the Whisky Slide at 4 to 8 feet thick, and the Big French vein, being the principal veins. Whisky Slide strikes NW and dips E. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 6,000 - 7,300 foot adit, driven NE. Also, a 170 foot shaft, inclined 78 degrees. A second inclined shaft is 90 feet deep but caved. There were 300 feet of drifts driven on the 150 level.
