A former placer Au occurrence/drift mine located in the NW¼SE¼ sec. 16, T10N, R11E, MDM, 0.5 km (0.3 mile) SSW of Texas Hill (coordinates of record), and about 1¼ miles SE of Placerville. Property holdings were 63 acres (Logan (1938) indicates 40 acres). Operated prior to 1900 and around 1905. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. This mine was one of the three most important producers for this type of mining in 1905.

Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 900 foot adit, raises and drifts.
