A former Au-Ag mine located in the SE¼ (estimated) sec. 11, T23S, R41E, MDM, 4.6 km (2.8 miles) E of Mountain Spring (coordinates of record), along Mountain Springs Canyon, on military reservation land (China Lake Naval Ordnance Test Station). Property consisted of 15 claims covering 240 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
The ore body is honeycombed at a thickness of 1.22 meters. There are veins on both sides of the canyon. The veins on the S side are flat while those on the N side dip steeply. South of the canyon there is a large vein on which 5 locations have been made. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings. The greatest development is the South Inyo claim where a 120 foot adit was driven on the vein, 1 to 4 feet thick). A half mile N, on another claim, an 80 foot adit was driven.
