A former gypsum occurrence/mine located in sec. 31, T27S, R18E, MDM, 9.7 km (6.0 miles) SSW of the Shale Hills (coordinates of record) and 15.4 km (9.6 miles) S of Kecks Corner, E of Bitterwater Creek/Canyon (NOTE: There are two Bitterwater Creeks in Kern County). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Local rocks include Plio-Pleistocene and Pliocene loosely consolidated deposits.
