A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 15, T27S, R29E, MDM, 3.2 km (2.0 miles) SSE of Granite Station, along Grimaud Creek. The property is comprised of 2 claims covering 40 acres. Owned by R. E. Dosworth, Tulare, California (1914- ). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in granite and diabase. The vein has a granite footwall and a diabase hanging wall. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of an 80 foot tunnel and short drifts.
A little rich ore was found. No specific records were found.
