Landslide and debris-flow deposits

Age: Pleistocene (0 - 2.588 Ma)

Description: Unstratified mixtures of fragments of adjacent bedrock. Locally includes slope wash and colluvium. Largest slides and debris flows occur where thick sections of basalt and andesite flows overlie clayey tuffaceous rocks. May include some deposits of late Pliocene age

Comments: In OR291, includes active or recently active slides marked by tilted trees and bent tree trunks. Includes debris flow deposits along the margins of Grande Ronde Valley formed during catastrophic collapse of high-standing dacite cliffs at Mt. Emily.Landslide deposits not included in State map (OR001) in Umatilla River Basin, but included in OR292
