A former Au-Cu-Fe occurrence/mine located in the center W½ sec. 26, T27S, R40E, MDM, 7.8 km (4.8 miles) SSE of Ridgecrest, within about ½ km of the San Bernardino County line. Owned by A. Demayo, Searles, California. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in rhyolite and granite. The ore body strikes N35W-N50W and dips 78NE at a thickness of 1.83 meters. The vein accompanies a rhyolite dike. The ore shoot occurs where the vein crosses the dike. Vein thickness is from 3 to 6 feet. At the bottom of the 40 foot shaft, the vein appears with well-defined walls. About 2 feet of vein matter, on the footwall side, was well mineralized and looked like good ore. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.

Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 18.29 meters and comprised of a 40 foot shaft with a drift 20 feet S on the 40 foot level. Another 40 foot shaft was sunk several hundred feet to the NW.
