A former Au-V occurrence/mine located in the SE¼ (estimated) sec. 24, T11N, R9E, MDM, 2.9 km (1.8 miles) WSW of Coloma, on the W side of Granite Canyon (1 mile SW of Lotus), on private land. The property is comprised of 50 acres. Operated by Beryl E. McKenney. Operated intermittently since the 1880's. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

Originally worked during the 1860's by the Stuckslager family. Purchased during the 1880's by the McKenney family, who have operated it intermittently ever since. Operated during the period 1935 to 1942 by D.J. McKenney and in 1955 by E.J. McKenney Jr. was sinking a shaft on the hill above the adit portal.

Mineralization is a vein & pockets Au-V deposit hosted in greenstone. The ore body strikes NW and dips SW. The main vein varies from a seam to 2 feet plus thick with many thin quartz stringers. The country rock is slate and greenstone and lies between serpentine to the W and granodiorite to the E. Au occurs in pockets with greenish or clove-brown scales of roscoelite in a quartz vein. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided and/or ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 500-foot adit and several shallow shafts.

Production data are found in Clark, Wm. B. & D.W. Carlson (1956).
