A former placer Au-Ag mine located in sec. 10, 11 & 14, T9S, R20E, MDM, 3.0 km (9,800 feet) WNW of Kelshaw Corners, along Coarse Gold Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. This locality is evidenced on topo maps byb a large, linear area of designated tailings along the Coarse Gold Creek channel.
Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
