A former lode Au mine located in secs. 26 & 27, T3S, R19E, MDM, 1.5 km (4,900 feet) NW of Garnet Point (4½ miles N of Cathey Valley), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. MRDS file #10102914 note: Probably an old name for one of the Hite group of claims.
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes NW and dips 60NE. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
