A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the SE¼ sec. 12, T47N, R15E, MDM, 1.6 km (5,300 feet) SE of Yellow Mountain (coordinates of record), in the headwaters area of Bidwell Creek, on the SE slope of the mountain, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit (Mineral occurrence model information: Model code: 151; USGS model code: 25d; Deposit model name: Epithermal vein, Sado; Mark3 model number: 28; USGS model may also be 25A: Hot-spring Au-Ag), hosted in Pliocene rhyolite. Local rocks include Tertiary volcanic flow rocks, unit 17 (Cascade Range).
