Yellow sandy marls, containing highly limonitised marcasite nodules, crop out near the harbour.

Vitreous, light grey to black pisolitic aragonite (“pelagosite”) has been collected by Onorato (1926) mainly at Scoglio dei Pagliai.

Glauconite at Cala dell'Elefante and Cala delle Arene was described by Bassani (1907).
