A former lode Cu-Pb-Zn-Au-Ag-As-S-Sb occurrence/prospect/mine located in secs. 6 & 7, T16N, R8E, MDM, about 5 km NNE of Rough and Ready, along the W side of Owl Creek (8 miles NW of Nevada City). Discovered in 1904. Operated by Ronald Fraser (1953- ). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in diabase and slate. The ore body is 1.83 meters thick. The slate is of the Calaveras slate. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 60 foot shaft and a short drift.
No production was recorded.
